CompanyOur story

Two decades
in the making.

How a theatre show, an events business and one remote hire grew into a group serving the UK, EU and USA.

Established 2018

Recruitico launched in 2018, but the idea behind it started years earlier, with a group of friends, a theatre production and a habit of doing the digital work themselves.

2005

Lahore

Where it began

Long before Recruitico, Dawar and three friends staged an amateur theatre play, Truth & Dare, as a side project. With a sponsor on board, it grew into a three-day show in Lahore that drew an audience of close to a thousand.

That small success led to an event management company in Islamabad. Promoting each event meant building websites and landing pages and designing posters and banners, working side by side with digital and creative professionals. None of it felt like the start of something bigger at the time.

2007

United Kingdom

A new chapter in the UK

Dawar moved to the UK to study, completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with a focus on international marketing.

He went on to build a marketing career, first with a project management consultancy and then in real estate, gaining a first-hand view of how UK businesses work and how hard it can be to find the right people.

2013

The first remote hire

An unexpected solution

Working as a marketing manager, Dawar needed help with a large campaign on a tight deadline: landing pages to build and brochures to design. Hiring locally proved difficult, so he contacted someone he knew from his events days in Islamabad.

The work was delivered quickly and to a high standard, at a fraction of the local cost, for a role that would have been hard to fill anyway. One hire became several, and a clear pattern emerged: UK businesses struggled to find digital talent that was available, and ready to work remotely, elsewhere.

2018

Launch

Recruitico is founded

Dawar launched Recruitico to give businesses access to that talent, with recruitment, employment and day-to-day support handled for them.

The early years meant a lot of explaining. Remote teams overseas were still unfamiliar to many business owners, and it took persistence to show how well the model worked.

2020

Remote becomes normal

A turning point

The pandemic made remote working a necessity almost overnight. What had been a hard sell became common sense, and demand grew.

We used the moment to sharpen our focus on digital agencies and technology companies, and on the roles where skilled people are hardest to find: web development, SEO, paid media and digital marketing.

2022

First US client

Growing without borders

We signed our first client in California, confirming what we had believed from the start: the need for great talent has no borders. Today we work with clients across the UK, EU and USA.

2023

Operations

A stronger team

Dawar's wife, Tram, had advised the business behind the scenes since 2014. In 2023 she left her career in higher education to join full time, bringing operational experience and a meticulous approach that transformed how we screen, assess and place candidates.
